Zephyr Room, Charthouse Restaurant
Windsor Cellars & Charthouse Restaurant present an exclusive evening with Giant Steps, freshly crowned 2025 Halliday Winery of the Year and Pinot Noir of the Year. Guests will be welcomed with a glass of Taittinger NV Champagne before settling in for an intimate walk through one of the Yarra Valley's most decorated portfolios, with cheese boards to share throughout the evening.
Hosting the night is Chief Winemaker Mel Chester, whose CV reads like a who's who of Australian and international wine — d'Arenberg in McLaren Vale, Charles Melton in the Barossa, and Quinta do Crasto in Portugal's Douro Valley. In 2014, Mel became the youngest ever scholar selected for the prestigious Len Evans Tutorial, was named Young Winemaker of the Year by Gourmet Traveller WINE in 2015, and picked up the People's Choice award from Young Gun of Wine in 2018.
The tasting moves through 9 Giant Steps wines across four brackets, tracing the Yarra Valley from regional blends through to single vineyard releases:
Bracket 1 — Regional Chardonnay
• Yarra Valley Chardonnay
• Circle of Fifths Chardonnay
Bracket 2 — Single Site Chardonnay
• Applejack Vineyard Chardonnay
• Sexton Vineyard Chardonnay
• Bastard Hill Chardonnay
Bracket 3 — Regional Pinot Noir
• Yarra Valley Pinot Noir
• Circle of Fifths Pinot Noir
Bracket 4 — Single Site Pinot Noir
• Primavera Vineyard Pinot Noir
• Applejack Vineyard Pinot Noir
All wines poured on the night will be available to purchase at special discounted prices — a rare chance to take home a piece of the Yarra Valley's most awarded portfolio.
Tickets are $50 per person, paid at time of booking, with places strictly limited to 32 guests. Call 9474 2229 or book online.
